Amazing Fact! Japan's Small Experimental Rocket Fails To Launch Tiny Satellite

As per the JAXA mission update, the mission was aborted by JAXA flight controllers during the ignition of the rocket's second stage after communication failure was cited. After the abort sequence, both the rocket and the satellite plummeted into the sea southeast of the space center, and have not been recovered. The launch could be a proof for Japan's micro-satellite and mini-rocket technology, that's cheaper than others.

Japan launched its first experimental rocket said to be the world's littlest sponsor meant to dispatch a satellite in orbit.

Roughly one-fifth the size of JAXA's mainstay H-IIA rocket, the SS-520 is a three-stage type based on a two-stage model used by JAXA.

The SS-520-4 was carrying an Earth-observation microsatellite orbital called TRICOM-1, a CubeSat-style spacecraft weighing 6.6 pounds, developed by researchers at the University of Tokyo.

So, rocket launch failed and was postponed on Jan 11 2017, reported JAXA, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency communication.

It was created to place a satellite weighing up to 4 kilograms in orbit at altitudes of up to 2,000 kilometers above the Earth's surface.

"The cause of the failure is not known at all yet", Shinya Matsuura, an expert on JAXA, told The Japan Times.

"All we can do is just analyze the data we got until communications were disrupted", he said, pointing to China's notable progress in producing rockets and urging more Japanese investment into research and development to keep up.
