Leeds United manager Garry Monk has criticised Huddersfield Town counterpart David Wagner for his actions following the Terriers' late victor in their Championship clash at the John Smith's Stadium this afternoon. Hefele's late goal sparked ecstatic scenes throughout John Smith's Stadium and Wagner chose to join his players in celebrations after the goal.

The pair clashed and that then sparked a huge melee between players and staff from both sides near the tunnel as the game ended in disappointing circumstances.

When referee Simon Hooper had restored order both Wagner and Monk were sent to the stands while Liam Bridcutt, Pontus Jansson and Elias Kachunga were booked. This culture is different in Germany.

"I'm very thankful for the opportunity to come to such a big and historic club", the Spaniard told the club's official website.

"If someone else goes against those values then it's wrong. I am sorry and I apologise for what happened afterwards".

"I said to him that he should have showed more respect to us, to his players and to football - football is a game of respect".

Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown scored with his first touch after coming on as a substitute to give Huddersfield a 27th-minute lead before Chris Wood equalised with his 21st goal of the season.

"When I don't see that, I take it upon myself to make sure that's put right".

We didn't deserve to lose, but nothing changes.
