QB Brandon Harris transferring from LSU

QB Brandon Harris transferring from LSU

It's a similar path to the previous LSU quarterback he replaced as a starter. According to The Advocate, Harris plans to graduate "in May or over the summer". "Coach O has given me a FULL release", Harris wrote in a statement on social media.

Harris announced in the tweet that he's been given his full release from coach Ed Orgeron. By the time the Tigers fired both of those coaches following a late September loss, Harris had already fallen out of favor.

Harris, a third-year junior, began the 2016 season as the Tigers' starting quarterback before losing his job to Purdue transfer Danny Etling. Etling will return for a final season and is expected to be the starter, but he'll be pushed by incoming true freshmen Myles Brennan and Lowell Narcisse.

The loss of Harris leaves Etling, a rising senior, as the only experienced quarterback on LSU's roster. To my teammates who've I shared a bond with it's been fun & special, I look forward to cheering you guys on next season. Miles and Cameron were fired the day after losing to Auburn on September 24, 2016, as the Tigers fell to 2-2. He started every game his sophomore year and finished with 2165 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.

North Carolina may be a possible landing spot for Harris, who had put "North Carolina" on his Twitter account biography, but he removed that on Monday.
