Should Bengals pursue Victor Cruz in National Football League free agency?

Should Bengals pursue Victor Cruz in National Football League free agency?

According to a Monday morning report from Jordan Raanan of ESPN, the New York Giants will continue to clean house upon starting a new week of the offseason.

"I pretty much grew up in front of the eyes of this entire organisation", Cruz said in a statement released by the team. Cruz's $7.9 million cap number was lowered to a more affordable figure to keep him on the roster. He played in three games that regular season, accumulating no stats, before being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Even with his recent injury history, expect Cruz to be an interesting option for a number of National Football League teams looking to add a spark to their offense in 2017.

It makes sense. Jennings was just never as good for the Giants as he was for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Victor Cruz's time with the Giants has come to an end as the New York Giants embark on a makeover of their offense.

Cruz came back to catch 39 passes for 586 yards and a touchdown previous year, a fraction of his former impact. He showed moments where he could still produce on the field and help the Giants, but the speed he once had was diminished and his big-play ability wasn't the same. Against the Philadelphia Eagles, Cruz went down with a major knee injury that cost him the rest of the season. In 2013, Cruz was unable to reach 1,000 receiving yards, and he also caught just four touchdown passes.

NY moved Cruz back to a slot role this season, but rookie Sterling Shepard overtook the job as the season progressed.

Cruz isn't the explosive playmaker that Titans fans want to see the team acquire, but he would be a solid addition as far as helping Tennessee win the AFC South.
