WWE's Linda McMahon Approved to Lead Small Business Administration

WASHINGTON -Today, the Senate voted to confirm Linda McMahon to lead the Small Business Administration.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell praised McMahon shortly before Tuesday's vote.

During her confirmation hearing two weeks ago, McMahon a CT resident, promised members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship that if confirmed, she would be a strong advocate for the SBA.

The Republicans and Democrats have clearly been straddling their party lines with a number of Senate confirmations for Donald Trump's cabinet nominees, but it seems Linda McMahon has a way of bridging the gap this country may need more than ever before.

McMahon was an executive with the WWE (formerly WWF) until 2009. McMahon first supported New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and at one point called some of the things Trump said "deplorable".

White House press secretary, then transition spokesman, Sean Spicer said back in December that Mahon brings "firsthand knowledge about what it takes to grow a successful small business" and as head of SBA "will make sure America's entrepreneurs have access to the capitol and resources they need to grow".

Nine out of the cabinet's 15 members are now in place, while three of the seven positions that hold cabinet rank have been filled: McMahon, US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Hailey, and White House chief of staff Reince Priebus.

The American Bankers Association applauded McMahon's confirmation.
