Liverpool Squad Must Always Remain United Insists Emre Can

Jordan Henderson was responsible for a rejuvenated Liverpool performance against Tottenham, according to Adam Lallana.

Klopp said prior to Liverpool's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday that he "dreamed of 14 consecutive league victories", while Henderson hosted a clear-the-air meeting with his team mates to arrest the club's recent slide last week.

The Reds are well placed to mount a serious top-four challenge in the months that remain this season as Jurgen Klopp's side sit fifth in the Premier League, just a point behind both Arsenal and Spurs directly above them.

"There is one or two things that we do need to work on that we did this week in training that can help us going forward".

Can said that "the most important thing" is that the Liverpool squad "stick together" and that they do so when they have "good performances" or "bad performances". It was a tough time because we knew we hadn't won for so long and performance levels were not up to standard but you have to stay together and keep believing, and I felt we did that.

"We have fantastic quality in the team, great mentality and great character but it is no good me saying that; it is up to us to show that from now until the end of the season".

Liverpool's sticky patch reached its nadir just over a week ago as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Premier League strugglers Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

"Klopp has taken his players away this week for some warm-weather training in La Manga with no game this weekend due to the FA Cup".

"Almost an "us against the world" type of attitude and we will do anything for each other, work our socks off, for it to change as quickly as possible".

He explained: "The most pleasing thing I think was the second half - how we were solid and took the sting out of the game".

"From day one we've said the aim is to win every game", the England midfielder said. "It is up to us to show that from now until the end of the season and keep putting in performances like that".
