Suspended NFL Pass Rusher Aldon Smith Under Investigation For Domestic Incident

The NFL refused to reinstate Raiders defensive end Aldon Smith in 2016, and now, the former 49er is apparently in trouble again.

Just eight days after NFL's Ian Rapoport tweeted out that he would be reinstated in March, Smith is being investigated for a domestic incident police in San Francisco after police responded to a call on Saturday morning involving Smith and a woman, according to TMZ Sports.

The specifics of what exactly happened are unknown. The league banished him in November 2015 as a repeated offender of the NFL substance abuse policy.

Police interviewed Smith and the alleged victim and took a report. National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell has complete power in regards to reinstatement, with no formal timetable to act.

Smith had been quiet in 2017, but was seen in an Instagram Live video recorded by Bay Area News Group saying, "I'm back, and there's nobody who can stop me".

"I'm back, and there's nobody who can stop me", Smith said on February 6.

Smith signed a one-year contract with the Raiders a month later and had two sacks in Oakland's season opener. He was arrested four times during his four seasons with the 49ers and was released early in training camp in 2015, the day after his most recent arrest.

"We are looking in to the matter", National Football League spokesman Brian McCarthy said in an e-mail Tuesday.
