Disney announces opening date for Californa's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' ride

A ride called "Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout" will take over the looming structure at Disney California Adventure, and it's slated to open on May 27, according to the OC Register. So, it came as no surprise when All-New Guardians of the Galaxy, a book featuring the very same lineup to be found in the movies, was announced not long ago. In effect, riders will experience randomized ride experiences complete with visual and audio effects inspired by the film's soundtrack. But the ride's replacement, Guardians of the Galaxy: Breakout, should be a worthy consolation.

Bradford Hornsby is an editor, music writer, web producer, and pop culture blogger for CBS stations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Bradley Cooper will once again voice Rocket Raccoon in the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2".

Coinciding with the attraction opening will be an event called Summer of Heroes, which will last through September 10.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! Everyone is bound to get in the groove and show off their moves during this awesome rock "n" roll bash!

Also, guests will be able to interact with many of their favorite Marvel characters, including Groot, Captain America, Spider-Man and many more. Black Widow and Hawkeye will be assembling young recruits and test their skills to joing the Avengers in Avengers Training Institute.

Heroic Encounter: Black Widow will arrive on the scene several times throughout the day in an armored Avengers vehicle for her heroic encounter with park guests. Want a token as proof of your adventures when you get home?

Lastly, there are other things to check out during the Summer of Heroes event.

Disneyland itself has had its share of construction work too shutting down part of the park for the new Star Wars-themed land coming soon.

Be sure to visit the Disney Parks Blog for more information and the official Disneyland website for advance ticket sales.
