ZTE to announce a Gigabit phone for 5G era

Problem is no telecom carrier in the world supports gigabit LTE yet. Once 5G network is out, this new device will be able to pull in a download speed of 1 gigabit per second.

ZTE is expected to announce their ZTE Gigabit at MWC 2017 alongside some other smartphones. Also, the phone will allow for instant cloud storage and will focus on 5G and what the company calls as the Internet of Everything.

Besides the awesome download speeds - ZTE did not share details of how the phone will achieve such fast connectivity - the Gigabit Phone will also have the ability to create panoramic, 360-degree video, and it will come with "instant cloud storage".

The introduction of the forward-looking smartphone, the ZTE Gigabit Phone, marks an important cornerstone for the 5G mobile era.

Last but month the rumor mill spurted out an interesting tidbit - Chinese phone maker ZTE might be looking to unveil a ground breaking phone concept at MWC 2017 in Barcelona.

Moreover, visitors are also welcome to experience ZTE's flagship smartphone, the newly updated Axon 7 with both Android Nougat and Daydream by Google. In January we couldn't tell you much about the elusive phone, but now we can even reveal its name.

Now, let's talk a bit more about this smartphone, shall we. Do you think we really need such high speeds or are you perfectly content with 4G LTE as it stands?
