Dozens of Headstones Broken at Jewish Cemetery in Philadelphia

US Vice President Mike Pence visits a Jewish cemetery in St. Louis following an act of vandalism at the site.

- Police are at the scene of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Frankford after a report of vandalism there, Sunday morning. "I'm hoping it was maybe just some drunk kids".

Philadelphia police called the destruction, spread across the entire cemetery, an act of "vandalism".

The report came after a Jewish cemetery in St. Louis was vandalized last week in a similar manner, increasing concern in the Jewish community over a rise in anti-Semitic incidents that some have connected to the candidacy and presidency of Donal Trump.

"It's just very disheartening that such a thing would take place", Mallin was quoted as saying. It also produced an outpouring of support from the area's Muslim community, and 2,500 people turned out to help with the cleanup effort.

In recent weeks, Jewish centers across the country have been experiencing threats that have led to evacuation.

The organization called on President Donald Trump to deliver a speech about his intentions to combat forms of hate, including anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.

"WE ARE SICKENED, SICKENED, SICKENED", the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect, which addresses human and civil rights issues across the USA, tweeted following reports about the vandalism. When asked if he was speaking for himself or the Foreign Ministry, Nahshon said the statement is "semi-official".
