Google Rolling Out Personal Assistant to All Nougat and Marshmallow Devices

Google Assistant made its debut on Pixel smartphones which were released past year.

Apart from LG, Nokia has also confirmed the support of Google Assistant in its newly revealed Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 Android smartphones. The updates add new features to make Android devices more useful.

Gummi Hafsteinsson, Product Lead, Google Assistant, said "The Google Assistant will automatically come to eligible Android phones running Nougat and Marshmallow with Google Play Services". Accessing Assistant is easy: simply long press on the home button and Assistant will appear, ready to accept your voice commands. However, while the early question was whether the Google Assistant will make way to other Android smartphones.

Now Google Assistant is the smart assistant, which is powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Excited to get Google Assistant on your Android phone? It will be available "soon" for English speakers in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, and German speakers in Germany.

With its capability to perform numerous tasks such as taking photos, initiating searches, providing directions, translating input and checking the weather, Google Assistant is far more robust than its predecessor.

Users on Google Play version 10.2.98 or higher will find that Google Assistant is activated today. First, we know Google's staying the course with the new strategy it set out with Pixel, whereby it aims to compete more directly with the iPhone.

Google has recently updated its Allo app with more interesting ways to converse with your friends and families. On first run, users will see a prompt giving them the option to upgrade to Assistant, with new settings available in the Google app soon after. He said that although he didn't have anything to announce at this point, Google's general philosophy is to have Assistant available to as many people as possible. Although it hasn't even been available for a full year yet, Google Assistant is already superior to Siri in several ways.
