National Park Service reveals just how small Trump's inauguration crowd was

President Trump has accused the media of under-reporting the size of the crowd at his inauguration and said during an appearance at the Central Intelligence Agency that "the 20-block area all the way back to the Washington Monument was packed".

The crowd at Trump's January 20 ceremony, on the other hand, was primarily confined to the first five pens, with the Park Service photo displaying large blank spots across the entire mall.

The National Park Service is putting disputes over President Donald Trump's inauguration crowd size to bed once and for all.

During a phone call that took place one day following the swearing-in ceremony, Trump summoned Reynolds to find photographs of the previous day's crowds on the Mall.

The debate over the size of Donald Trump's Inauguration crowd appears to have been settled once and for all with the release of hundreds of official images taken of Washington D.C. on January 20th by the National Parks Department.

You can see more photos of the crowd (as well as photos from Obama's inaugurations, which had much bigger crowds) at this BuzzFeed link.

The Monday photo dump was prompted by Freedom of Information Act requests by The Washington Post and multiple other news outlets. We had 250,000 people literally around in the little ball we constructed'.

While there are no time stamps, the photos clearly show crowds gathering near the Capitol's West Front stage for the ceremony.

Spicer's false assertion came in response to a number of news outlets publishing a photo shot from the top of the Washington Monument on Inauguration Day.

By the way, the Park Service is part of the executive branch that Trump now runs.
