ACC Tournament begins Tuesday in Brooklyn

Sound familiar? It should.

Duke guard Frank Jackson (15) goes to the basket past Clemson center Sidy Djitte (50) and guard Marcquise Reed (2) during the second half of an NCAA college basketball game in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, Wednesday, March 8, 2017, in NY.

But Luke Kennard's short jumper in the last minute eliminated Clemson from the tournament and capped off another huge game for the Wooden Award finalist.

Isaiah Hicks scored 21 points for the Tar Heels, who battled through a almost shot-for-shot fight with their fiercest rival to finish unbeaten at home.

Senior guard Matt Jones was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team. "And that's it. Sometimes, it's not nuclear science here".

"I can't wait to go back home to play in front of friends and family", he says.

"We're not at home...but we have to play our brand of ball", James said.

Although Louisville used a 10-0 run to build a 20-13 lead early in the contest, the Blue Devils answered right back even with Jackson picking up his third foul.

The Louisville men's basketball team has won eight of its last 11 games, and the Cardinals will look to continue that momentum when they face Duke in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday. N.C. State is one of the weaker teams in the ACC, as such Clemson should be able to move on to the second round at least. The Bison (26-8) gained the conference's automatic NCAA tourney bid for the first time since 2013. This win closed out UNC's first ideal record at the Smith Center since 2011.

Worryingly for Duke, Allen failed to register a point and in truth the technical he was called for, and the immediate aftermath of it was the only noticeable thing he did all game.

Allen has the most technical fouls in the ACC this season, according to ESPN Stats & Info. Allen was booed loudly every time he touched the ball all night.

In their first year in the conference the Orange as the #2 seed was upset by North Carolina State in their first ever trip 66-63.

Duke: Shot 54 percent in the first half but 37 percent after halftime.

After Snider hit one free throw for Louisville, Tatum sank an open 3-pointer from the corner and the Blue Devils led 78-73 with 2:23 to play.

Freshman forward Jayson Tatum was named a third-team All-ACC selection and a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team. The Tigers shot 56 percent in the second half, making 17 of 30 shots. Georgia Tech comes into this game with a 17-14 overall record, while Pittsburgh is at just 15-16 on the season. Hicks, who sat out the first meeting due to a hamstring injury, had a game-high nine rebounds.

Duke knocked off Clemson by seven on Wednesday to advance to the second-round of the tournament.

After the holidays, Syracuse traveled to Boston College for its ACC opener.
