Wooing fails: Free-agent OL TJ Lang reportedly chooses Lions over Seahawks

However, McGinn cited sources in October 2016 who said Packers general manager Ted Thompson told veterans Lang and Josh Sitton the team would look to extend younger players before them.

T.J. Lang is going home. But assuming Lang's at 100 percent when the season starts (and I've seen nothing to suggest he won't), Quinn's turned what would have been the Lions' two biggest free-agent losses into two clear-cut upgrades. "I know that was a big story the past couple weeks, but for me, it's nothing but a positive", he said.

Lang, a Royal Oak native, attended Birmingham Brother Rice High School and then went on to star at Eastern Michigan University before being drafted by the Green Bay Packers, where he played his first eight seasons professionally. Lang has visited all three teams and plans to make his decision on Sunday. He admitted that the process has been both exciting and stressful. It's been about four days since I got a good night's sleep. I was one of them as a kid.

Lang is a former Pro Bowl guard who comes in and immediately fills the hole left by Larry Warford's departure in free agency. For the Seahawks, signing Lang would be a change of course after assembling a dirt-cheap and very unimpressive offensive line in 2016, which often showed in their performances. Packers coach Mike McCarthy, speaking at the combine, said he didn't anticipate the guard being ready to return to the field until training camp.
