New Tanky Orissa to Go Live on March 21st

It's only a week before you can try the hero out for yourself, though, as Blizzard just announced her release date in a new "making of" video.

Blizzard revealed today that the newest character for its team-based shooter is going live on March 21. In a couple of skins for the soon-to-be-released tank character Orisa, it looks like Genji has been absorbed into her belly, fighting to escape through the cracks in her chrome-plated armor.

In the preview video (embedded below), developers from the Overwatch team discuss the character being an "anchor tank" similar to existing hero Reinhardt, who is able act as the central figure in a team around which other players can operate.

Fusion Driver: Orisa's automatic projectile cannon delivers sustained damage, but slows her movement while she fires it.

Orisa launches a graviton charge which she can detonate, slowing nearby enemies and pulling them towards the explosion. She can throw a device that creates a curved, stationary Protective Barrier, flawless for intercepting projectiles and shielding teammates. She always carries "The Drum" on her back, and when her ult is charged, she can throw it on the ground to provide a 50 percent damage boost to any teammate in the Drum's line of sight. Orisa is also the first quadruped mech in the game, and is a current guardian of Numbani.
