See Ben Affleck's Touching Rehab Confession & Goal to Be the 'Best Father'

Ben Affleck candidly addressed his 1.36 million Facebook followers on Thursday to discuss his recent alcohol addiction rehab.

The Gone Girl actor has also been very vocal about his family's struggle with alcoholism.

Gardner has also spoken positively about Affleck, saying that the couple remain "great friends", and stating, "We're doing really well".

What's more, Affleck and formerly estranged wife Jennifer Garner recently announced that they would not be pursuing a divorce. "This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery".

Despite announcing their separation nearly two years ago, Affleck and Garner are reportedly putting their divorce plans on hold.

"I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront", he wrote. He is especially concerned with what his children can learn from his own experience: " I want my children to know that there is no shame in asking for help to take a first step.

Wow. We're really sorry to hear that Ben Affleck has been suffering so much, especially because the unending pressure laid on by fans waiting for The Batman likely made the situation all the worse for Affleck.

"Ben is a self-aware and smart man who has decided that a fuller life awaits him without alcohol", his rep told People magazine in 2001.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the hard decision to divorce", the pair said in a joint statement to E!

In Affleck's statement about his rehab stint, he called Garner his "co-parent", and said he's lucky to have her love. I commend Ben for making such a personal battle so public as it has the potential to help others who might be struggling to make changes in their lives.
