Memphis Depay sends message to Man United boss Jose Mourinho

The Spaniard helped United book their place in the last eight with a goal in the 1-0 win over Rostov on Thursday night.

Jose Mourinho says he will not play a purposefully weakened team against Middlesbrough on Sunday, despite a fixture pile-up that threatens to derail the club's season. Aren't we good enough in the Premier League to have more teams in Europe at this stage?

The campaign has been far from a resounding success, however, as United sit sixth in the Premier League heading into Sunday's game with Middlesbrough at the end of a week in which their FA Cup defence was ended by Chelsea.

While most pundits would have said something less ferocious and ultimately sympathised with Jose because the club do have a lot of fixtures to play in a short space of time, Keane made his point from personal experience.

Leaders Chelsea have not been involved in European action this season and the four other teams above United in the table - Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool - have all been eliminated and have played fewer matches this season. I don't ask for me, but for all the English teams.

" It's the simple criteria of 'we give you so much money". In Portugal, every team that plays in Europe they play on the next Monday. "Is the Premier League happy to have just one English club in the Champions League and one in the Europa League?"

He said: "You never know, we didn't think we would beat Zenit either".

"Three years [minimum], I think I will be here, I think the club understood the necessity to give stability to all levels", he told SIC. We play to score goals, we play good football, building up from the back.

Mourinho is hopeful Pogba, who has had an inconsistent season following his world record move from Juventus, will be ready after the next worldwide break.

"This is a very hard draw", he said.

"He was already feeling something in the first half and immediately he felt he couldn't carry on in the second". "He was one of the players who never had a rest, because he played every game". 'He gets millions, let him run.

The Red Devils have scored in each of their last 14 away league games against Middlesbrough; their longest active streak against a single opponent.

"So that's normal. I think the Monday game, more than an hour of 11 against 10, also had a price". "If he breaks, no problem".
