Zelda: Breath of the Wild Gets New Patch: What Does it Fix?

Nintendo has released an update for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which reportedly resolves numerous game's frame rate issues.

The most consistent problem with Breath of the Wild since launch has been the game's wildly inconsistent frame rate.

What does that actually mean, though? The official notes for the patch indicate that "Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience". I personally am not perturbed or bothered by the small FPS hitches, but I play the game on Nintendo's newest Switch console. Every little performance boost helps!

KitGuru Says: I have been avoiding playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild with the Switch docked due to the inconsistent frame rate.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the franchise's first foray into the open world genre, and despite a few hiccups here and there, the game is very enjoyable. Though the issue isn't 100% fixed, it certainly seems an improved, more pleasant experience.

So far reports are all anecdotal, but it seems that many of these areas have seen improvement.

Luckily, Nintendo issued an update last night that fixes these issues. The lack of patch notes has left NeoGaf users guessing what the update included.

Above, you will find a comparison video from YouTuber "ElAnalistaDeBits", showing some gameplay from version 1.1.0 and gameplay from the new 1.1.1 patch.

You should be prompted to install the update next time you resume or boot up the game.
