Moto G5 smartphone launched in India

The G5 Plus was initially launched in India on March 15 and the global release in the country will happen on April 4 with Amazon as an exclusive seller. It will be available in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold from Amazon India from 12am IST on Wednesday.

Just the other day we reported that Motorola is working on a new Moto X smartphone, purportedly, the successor to the Moto X Style. Even, few of us have missed this live launch event, but don't worry we have covered all specs and features of this new mid-budget smartphone. 11,999 which is cheaper than the Moto G5 Plus that costs Rs. 16,999. While the company is yet to reveal the price of the Moto G5 in India, it can be expected to be lesser than the Moto G5 Plus. The smartphone has been launched in a single variant - 3GB RAM+16GB of storage - priced at Rs. 11,999.

One of the most exciting smartphones of the year, Moto G5 is all set to make its India debut today. With HDFC Bank credit card cash back of Rs 1000 will be available. The Moto G5 has a water repellent coating that protects itself from splashes or rain. Another highlight is its metal design, built out of aluminium. The panel seems to be similar to the one on the G5 Plus which was pretty decent.

Don't be fooled by the numbers as the 12-megapixel sensor of the G5 Plus offers much more. As per the latest leak reported by iTechpost, the Moto X (2017) apparently sports a unique design. The G5 has a 5-inch full HD screen and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor in place of Moto G5 Plus' Snapdragon 625. In addition, Motorola has also paired the device's chipset with 2GB and 3GB of RAM, depending on the acquired variant. The front camera also has a beautification mode to enhance selfies. The G5 has been launched with a camera combination of 13-megapixel by 5-megapixel promising good pictures overall.

In the connectivity department you get 4G LTE network support, dual SIM card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, microUSB with USB OTG and FM Radio. Sensors on the phone includes proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass sensor. The company has not provided Google Assistant feature in Moto G5 plus. Using PCMark's battery life benchmark test, the G5 Plus clocked in a score of 10 hours and 17 minutes; over four hours longer than the ZTE Max Pro. It measures 144.3x73x9.5mm and weighs 144.5 grams.
