Snow possible on Friday; sun returns on Saturday in Portage County

A wind advisory is in effect for metro Atlanta until 10 p.m. Thursday after strong storms Wednesday.

Very strong winds are expected to move through the area overnight and through the day Thursday, according to NBC 5 Storm Team models. Use caution when making the morning drive - high profile vehicles will be impacted the most. It will be cloudy, with a high near 49. Sustained winds around 20mph with gusts up 35mph expected.

Many metro areas around the Puget Sound could have wind gusts over 40 miles per hour, with some isolated 45 or 50 miles per hour gusts from early Friday morning through mid-afternoon.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 50.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Saturday night, partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

Tuesday night, a chance of showers. On Sunday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 65.
