Third Star Wars spinoff could be announced this summer

Balance has returned to the Force.

If the new trailer release for Star Wars: The Last Jedi wasn't enough to fill your need for Star Wars news, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy teased during an interview with MTV at this past weekend's Star Wars Celebration in Orlando that they are "very close" to making an announcement regarding the third Star Wars standalone film.

Who knows if the creature is a major character or just background dressing, but it looks a little like a distant cousin to the three-eyed alien Gran, first seen in Return of the Jedi. Whitta said "It was a far more collaborative story breaking process than on any film I've ever been involved with". "It will always be his name (laughs)". And since Han Solo will be the next spinoff to hit theaters in 2018, we'd love for the 2020 Star Wars release to be a new, untold story before maybe seeing what Boba Fett's up to in 2022.

"I certainly foresee movies past nine". So naturally, we're anxious to hear what the next solo Star Wars film is going to be, and it sounds like we won't have much of a wait before we find out.

Fellow big-names Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson also star in the movie. Not only will you be doing a good deed today, but you'll also be entered to win a trip to the set of the Young Han Solo movie.

In a a new spoiler-free set tour of the Han Solo movie, actor Warwick Davis lampooned the culture of spoilers, while directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord showed off one classic-looking Star Wars alien.
