President Trump welcomes Sarah Palin to White House

Nugent visited the White House for dinner with Trump on Wednesday night at the invitation of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), accompanied by his wife Shemane Nugent, as well as Trump supporter and musician Kid Rock and his fiancée Audrey Berry.

All three jumped on the Trump train early in the primary campaign and appeared at numerous rallies on Trump's behalf in the months leading up to his election victory last November.

He wrote: "So today is the 242nd anniversary of The Shot Heard Round The World is it!" Thank you to President Trump for the invite!' she wrote on her Facebook page Thursday. The images were surely to be expected once Trump got elected, and many, myself included, were confused when Kid Rock and Ted Nugent were not on the bill for Trump's inauguration parties. Some people painted this photo-op as "in bad taste" and "inappropriate", but I see nothing inappropriate about three gosh-darn patriots paying tribute to a former First Lady while visiting the White House.

Palin vocally supported Trump's White House run past year, even attending his final debate with Clinton as a guest last October.

The trio were photographed in the Oval Office with President Trump, and they even took a photo in front of the Hillary Clinton portrait. Their names have been floated as potential candidates in the 2018 U.S. Senate race when Democrat Debbie Stabenow is up for reelection.
