Yes, Jose Mourinho Wants Us, Let's Do It In Final - Lyon President

His match-winner sent United into the last four and Mourinho urged his players to retain belief in their ability to go on and win the Europa League. That's the way I think. I don't expect miracles. You can not do miracles, so miracles I don't expect, but they have to try to do everything to accelerate the process. There are no miracles.

Asked when he thinks Smalling, who has a knee injury, and Jones should make themselves available, Mourinho said: "If it was me I think tomorrow".

Mourinho had kinder words for left-back Luke Shaw, having publicly and sharply criticised the England global on several occasions in recent weeks.

"I knew it did not look so good on television, but he seems to be in good spirits", the left-back told Sportbladet.

"That is why I kept Marcus on the team the whole time - for months he was not scoring a goal, but my trust in the boy is always based on his mentality".

Ibrahimovic's knee problem was particularly nasty but did free up Rashford to play down the middle for the rest of the game, where he had a much bigger impact on proceedings.

"'If you need to make a change in another position, do it, because I'm ready for it'".

Mourinho also expressed reservations about reports England Under-21 coach Aidy Boothroyd plans to call Rashford up for this year's Under-21 European Championship in Poland.

It should have been plain sailing for Jose Mourinho's men after Henrikh Mkhitaryan had given them the lead early on, only for Sofiane Hanni to equalise before half-time.

The former Manchester United captain continued: "It was just as well Rashford had scored the victor, because you'd be waiting for him in the dressing room and I think it summed up their season to miss that many chances".

Defender Tuanzebe has become a key figure with the U20s, but with United down to one fit centre-half following an injury to Marcos Rojo against Anderlecht, Mourinho has said he may be forced to use the 19-year-old in the coming weeks.

"We had lots of opportunities and might have scored plenty of goals but occasionally games go that way".

The Match of the Day host even claimed that Rashford was the most exciting young player he had seen for a long time.

"It was very disappointing to concede at that stage in extra time as it was hard to find a way back after that".
