Morata ready to snub Manchester United for reunion with Conte at Chelsea

The Red Devils are thought to be in advanced talks with Real Madrid about the potential signing of the 24-year-old Spain worldwide, although it is understood that no fee has yet been agreed.

Morata has been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad at Old Trafford.

The reports say that Roman Abramovich has given his nod to the Board for a £70 million move to land the 24-year-old, which will come as a huge blow to United's plans of securing the striker.

And finally, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back at United and vowing to be fit by November, creating the intriguing possibility of the Sweden global being offered a short-term contract by the club.

And according to the Mirror, Morata is seen as an ideal replacement.

But the potential arrival of Ronaldo would undermine that message, and could give Morata cause to reconsider his options this summer.

Chelsea's interest will concern Mourinho, because of the player's affection for Conte, who signed him for Juventus in 2016 before taking over the Italian national team.

"I knew they'd bring me back but I didn't know if it was to keep me or sell me".

"I remember talking to my dad then and him saying: 'This guy's going to win the league there'".

Their need is even more pressing after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure, with the 35-year-old having netted 17 of those goals.

"I feel indebted to him because he's the coach that most trusted in me, most wanted me, who made me feel I could perform at the highest level". I'm sure he's innocent.
