Ivanka Trump's Husband Jared Kushner Speaks Publicly

Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, on Monday spoke about the need to modernize technology and data used by the federal government.

Joining Cook in Washington are Alphabet Inc Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Chairman John Doerr and the leaders of Microsoft Corp, IBM Corp, Mastercard Inc., Intel Corp, Qualcomm Inc, Oracle Corp, and Adobe Systems Inc., among others. Apple CEO Tim Cook plans to raise immigration, a person briefed on the matter said Sunday.

In May, Trump created an American Technology Council, his latest effort since taking office to modernize the USA government.

The methods already being considered for this goal by the administration include cutting government information technology costs, reducing government costs through improved IT services, leveraging government buying power, and reducing fraud across government agencies. The summit will kick off the White House's Technology Week, during which time it will pay special attention to technology issues. Another question deals with machine learning and artificial intelligence (MLAI), asking CEOs to discuss how MLAI can be integrated into government services in the future. For example, Trump's decision to remove the US from the Paris Agreement, a pact to increase measures to control climate change, caused Tesla CEO Elon Musk to resign his positions on White House advisory boards. This comes as the White House looks to reduce government spending across all sectors and federal agencies. The President, who serves as chairman of the council, is expected to appear during a session at the end of the day; Vice President Mike Pence will participate in sessions throughout the day. Senior administration officials said there will be a particular focus on modernizing government IT systems. "It's working and it's very exciting", he said.

He recently announced that he would be taking a leave of absence from the company, following the results of multiple probes into Uber's work culture and the sudden death of his mother.

The group is expected to talk about reforming the H-1B visa program, modernizing the government's tech infrastructure and keeping its computers safe from cyber attacks.
