The head coach of the team in florida, Adam Gases, has confirmed to the network ESPN on Monday that the organization was aware of the situation. Cerqueira has not been cooperating with authorities, sources told Slater, and a decision on possible charges isn't expected this week.

Fort Lauderdale police are investigating a battery case involving Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

And although she released a statement on Monday stating that she was not "physically harmed" and denying any wrong doing, the Fort Lauderdale Police electing to move forward with their investigation.

Cerqueira said that she did not call police, but that someone else did. "Jarvis and I are happily raising our handsome daughter and I would like to make a plea to the media that they refrain from spreading this completely false story".

The 24-year-old Landry, the Dolphins' second-round pick in 2014, has led Miami in receiving in his three seasons. He and former LSU teammate Odell Beckham Jr. each have 288 receptions, which is the most of any players in history during their first three National Football League seasons.

Landry is entering the final year of his four-year, $3.74 million contract.
