Borussia Dortmund Confirm Barcelona Bid For Ousmane Dembele Rejected

"We tried to reach him but we were unable to", Bosz told reporters at a press conference.

Dortmund are aware of the problems they could face in replacing Dembele age before the end of the transfer window closes with the pricetag of €150m created to force Barcelona to look elsewhere.

Should Dembele's move go through it would see Dortmund make a huge profit on a player who has only played 32 games for the club.

"We don't know where he is".

A stunned Bosz explained: "Dembele was not at work today".

Yesterday it emerged that Dortmund have quoted the La Liga side a fee of £135m for Dembele, a figure that would represent a staggering profit of £122m in just 12 months if realised.

"As there has been no further offer from FC Barcelona to date, there is now no transfer of the player to FC Barcelona and this is not now likely".

German tabloid Bild reported that Dortmund wants an eye-watering 150 million euros (US$175 million) for its star, a price Barcelona appears unwilling to pay.

Atop their list of rumoured targets are Philippe Coutinho of Liverpool and Dortmund's Dembele, with the latter now looking closer than ever to a Bundesliga exit.

Chelsea, Liverpool, staying at Arsenal - what would be best for Oxlade-Chamberlain?

The Dembele transfer could even be announced by Wednesday, with the 20-year-old winger seemingly already preparing for the move by removing any link to Dortmund on his social media bio.

"Liverpool is not a club that needs to sell".

Dembele scored 10 goals in 49 appearances last season after joining Dortmund for £13m from Rennes and helped the club win the DFB-Pokal Cup.
