Stephen Colbert announces exclusive Scaramucci interview

Anthony Scaramucci, the American financier who lasted all of ten days as Donald Trump's communications director, will appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert next Monday, according to a tweet by the show's host.

The former White House communications director has reportedly been delighting in his newfound celebrity, posing for photos with "fans" (with his mirror-finished blue aviator shades on) and even receiving an ovation upon walking into a Westhampton Beach restaurant recently, according to Axios.

Scaramucci will be interviewed by George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday.

So, the comedian made a decision to sign a parody of the Queen classic with the words: 'Momma, I just got canned.

Mr Scaramucci, 53, was sacked last week by new White House chief of staff John Kelly after making a string of controversial comments to a journalist from the New Yorker magazine.

Colbert's "censors" comment was a reference to an explosive New Yorker report that was published before Scaramucci left his role at the White House. His firing came swift after an expletive-filled interview with the New Yorker in which he called then chief of staff Reince Priebus "a f-- paranoid schizophrenic" and accused chief strategist Steve Bannon of trying to commit a sex act on himself.

Scaramucci was removed the same day Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly was sworn-in. Colbert joked after his ouster.

Colbert is one of President Trump's fiercest critics on television.
