Arsenal vs. Leicester City

The Gunners will kick-off the new season on Friday night when they host 2015/16 champions Leicester at the Emirates Stadium, with club-record recruit Lacazette likely to lead the line.

Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will play no part in club's opening League game after the Chilean suffered an abdominal strain in training.

Wenger would not discuss this evening who may be departing his bloated squad, but said players needed to play and that in some positions he had three or four players fighting for the same spot in the team. "I know how important he is not only as a player but also in the group".

We had to claw it from the brink of disaster though, as with les than 10 minutes on the clock we needed two goals to get the three points, and we got them thanks to the subs. "Yeah, we have top quality".

"Lacazette is simple. In every game he is stronger since he has joined us", Wenger said. "So overall I think he adapts slowly to the way we want to play and is a collective player and an intelligent player as well".

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson admits he would be happier if the 28-year-old moved abroad instead of - just like van Persie - joining and therefore bolstering a Premier League rival. "He's an intelligent player".

Roma will not increase their offer for Leicester forward Riyad Mahrez, according to the Italian club's director of football Monchi. Manchester City are said to be circling, but Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich's interest appears to have cooled.

The two sides went into the break level as Danny Welbeck scored on the stroke of half-time with a neat finish.

So as the Premier League season gets underway this weekend, I pick out a few ones to watch for the coming season.

"That's a nice start but obviously I prefer to be on the pitch".

Liverpool - The Reds have added Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke, but they haven't signed nearly enough players to be challenging for the title.
