Isco "very close" to signing new contract with Real Madrid

"I am very happy for this confidence [from the club]".

By giving him some games off, the 32-year-old Ronaldo arrived in peak form to the final stretch and led Madrid to the double.

'We know we've got a lot of talent and that with hard work we can achieve great things, ' Zidane said.

Asensio joined Madrid from Mallorca for just £3m in 2014 and he's developed in to one of the hottest properties in Spanish football over the past three years.

It is said no player in the Madrid first team has a release clause lower than €500 with players in the youth tea, already on €300.

Those managerial successes add to those Zidane achieved as a player with Madrid, having won a league title, the Champions League, two Spanish Super Cups and the European Super Cup between 2001 and 2006 and he says he is enjoying his time in the dugout at the Bernabeu. I'm happy to be working so well with my staff. We have worked well and then the goals are always the same - we want to win every game and every possible title.

Appointed to succeed Rafa Benitez in January 2016, Zidane opened his tenure with a Champions League triumph.

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return to the starting line-up for the trip to Barcelona after featuring as a late substitute against Manchester United in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday.

"They have had changes but Barcelona are Barcelona".

Barca have added more pace to their side with the return of winger Gerard Deulofeu after stints in England and Italy although the Spaniard can not be expected to be a replacement for Neymar.

Barcelona face arch rivals and La Liga champions Madrid in the first leg of Spain's traditional curtain raiser on Sunday at the Nou Camp. The staff are doing a great job, we do not fail because of the relationship in the dressing room.

It was not too long ago that Isco was considered a luxury player at Real Madrid. "If we think it is going to be easier tomorrow we will be mistaken".
