Mega Millions winning ticket worth $393M sold in IL

The ticket was purchased at Nick's Barbecue in Palos Heights, Ill., according to officials.

The jackpot is worth $247 million if paid out in cash, or $393 million in installments.

This is the largest Mega Millions jackpot in nearly a year and is the fifth-largest prize in the game's 15-year history, according to the website, which did not identify the victor. However, that amount was shared between several ticket holders.

One was sold in Washington.

This is the fourth Mega Millions jackpot won this year. That's because the jackpot for Saturday night's drawing for the competing Powerball game is $356 million.

That's a cash value of $224 million if you take the lump sum. It began April 28 and rolled over 30 times before the winning ticket was purchased.

That is the 14th largest jackpot in Powerball's history.

The others were sold in California and Ohio.

The odds of winning Mega Millions are 1 in 259 million. He won $61 million.

The chances of winning either amusement are outrageous - one of every 292 million for Powerball, and one of every 259 million for Mega Millions.
