Arsene Wenger on Alexis Sanchez signing Arsenal deal

Arsene Wenger on Alexis Sanchez signing Arsenal deal

Manchester City have been linked with a move for the Chile worldwide all summer while Paris St-Germain and Bayern Munich have also expressed an interest.

Arsenal are upping their contract offer to Alexis Sanchez. "I think if you read the French papers, they are on (Kylian) Mbappe's case to finish their transfer market".

Wenger revealed a fresh blow after confirming that Alexis Sanchez has picked up an abdominal strain and the attacker is expected to be out for at least two weeks.

However, his absence from the Community Shield, coupled with Wenger's revelation that he will miss the game against Leicester, and possibly Stoke, has further fuelled rumours over his future. He will not play against Stoke.

'I can not say I am immune to criticism - everybody wants to be loved, everybody wants to be loved by the fans.

Wenger was asked about PSG's interest and said he had not spoken with the club's chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi in "a long time" and he does not expect to hear from him.

The Gunners have already lifted silverware without Sanchez this season after beating Chelsea in the final of the Community Shield last weekend.

"Plenty of uncertainties about players who didn't play against Chelsea - Ramsey, Ozil, Mertesacker".

"I keep the faith and I still believe I can have an important part to play this season in the club".

"Alexis is not available, for example".

Some may disagree with that sentiment and feel Arsenal could do with the addition of the 2015-16 PFA Players' Player of the Year, who has stood out as one of the Foxes' elite stars in recent years.

Wenger added. "I think we have a good level of physical preparation".

"We didn't manage to do that last season so I'm not super optimistic in that regard, but we have the firm intention of not selling him".

'If you look at the number of players that are out on loan, they can call a few back, ' he said.
