Mbappe hints that problem with Monaco led him to sign with PSG

Kylian Mbappe has said that while he was attracted by the chance to play alongside the "extraordinary" Neymar, he made the decision to join Paris Saint-German this summer because of the club's ambition as he set his sights on the Champions League.

The 18-year-old France worldwide spoke for the first time as a PSG player since his transfer went through last week and revealed his initial intentions to remain with Monaco, as well as explaining his decision to turn down a move away from Ligue 1.

The exciting teenager netted as a substitute in France's 4-0 World Cup qualifying win over Netherlands last week, becoming the youngest scorer for Les Bleus in 54 years, before starting the 0-0 draw against Luxembourg.

The Brazilian moved to the French capital for a world record £198m earlier this summer, breaking up the famous "MSN" trio of Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, which had helped the Catalan club achieve trophy-laden success.

"For me, it was the project that was going to allow me to develop, to learn while winning".

"He is an additional advantage", he said.

Understanding his former club's anger towards him, Mbappe added, "I know that some of you do not understand my choice and that a feeling of anger is born in you, I understand". "There were events that have changed my opinion".

"It's putting everything in place to make that goal more than possible and that's important to me".

"I have entered into a dressing room where I have the fewest titles to my name". I was a football fan, a kid who loved football and when you are a kid from Paris there are only two stadiums - the Stade de France or the Parc de Princes - and that is what makes Paris so special. I am hungry for titles. "They have an fantastic project and I want to improve and learn from my teammates". "I am driven by the desire to win everything".
