Myles Garrett Could Miss Multiple Weeks With Injured Ankle

Garrett had an MRI after practice which left his status for Sunday's season opener at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers in doubt. The injury occurred during a team drill when Garrett was engaged with an offensive lineman and a teammate fell against the side of his lower leg. Garrett left the field soon after.

This morning, multiple outlets reported that Garrett suffered a high ankle sprain and will miss several weeks.

Not just as the franchise quarterback, but as a team captain for the ninth time.

Roethlisberger has taken it upon himself to make sure the three are up to speed on "Steeler tradition, the Steeler way". I don't want to go out there and jeopardize myself getting hurt in camp. And possibly even more games after that.

With the regular season days away, Roethlisberger has noticed "the excitement, the attention to detail, the sense of urgency, all those things are turned up a little bit", in practice.

"I would imagine we expect to get his best and he expects to get ours", he said on a conference call. "That (Garrett's comment) is just part of the entertainment value that's professional sports". I know they're always up for the challenge.

Despite all the talk about getting a sack, Garrett said he was more anxious about making an impact against the Steelers.

With Garrett out, the Browns will start either Nate Orchard or Carl Nassib at the other defensive end spot.

Another first overall pick, Courtney Brown, dealt with injury after injury. There is a certain hardening that has to happen to your group individually and collectively, I believe, through this process. I'm not very good at them.
