Ranchi-Delhi Rajdhani Express derails, no injuries

"The engine and the power vehicle are affected".

"We received information about the incident around 11:24 AM".

"Engine, power coach of Delhi-Ranchi Rajdhani Exp derail near Minto Bridge in New Delhi; no fatalities", Northern Railway spokesperson said.

Neeraj Sharma, Railway Spokesman informed that the derailment took place at around 1140 AM and all passengers are safe.

Platform number 15 at the Delhi station was closed for restoration work, a railway official said. The train was moving very slowly and stopped suddenly.

Earlier this morning, Shaktikunj Express train derailed near Obra railway station close to Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh.

Official sources said the train was running at a speed of about 40 km/hr which might have prevented any injuries being caused to the passengers.

The day indeed was cursed as another train met with the same fate.

Three days later, nine coaches of the Delhi-bound Kaifiyat Express had derailed in the Auraiya district, leaving around 100 passengers injured.

On August 19, 22 people had been killed and over 150 injured when 13 coaches of the Kalinga-Utkal Express derailed near Muzaffarnagar in UP.

Mumbai: In the third train derailment of the day, two coaches of a goods train have reported to be derailed in Maharashtra on Thursday.

Newly appointed Railway Minister Piyush Goyal personally monitored the situation after the derailment of Shaktipunj Express.
