Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says FFP has failed and could be scrapped

"Not before Christmas, that's why he isn't in Europa League squad but hopefully in the new year", Wenger said.

Arsenal have won their last 23 Premier League home matches against sides in the relegation zone since drawing 4-4 with Spurs in October 2008.

Wenger reiterated his calls for the transfer window to be shut before the season begins across Europe, saying allowing uncertainty over the futures of key players to spill over into the start of the season was hurting the game.

Law, who was a scout for the club before he took up his role as a transfer negotiator, built a good relationship with Wenger and worked closely alongside the with Frenchman for eight years.

Arsenal should be capable to deal with AFC Bournemouth easily. Still, they did very well in the previous round against Manchester City, a game which they lost in the stoppage time. The England worldwide has scored three goals so far this season, one more than he managed in 16 appearances last season.

Reports have claimed that the Spaniard may be forced to retire due to the injury, but Wenger believes he will be back in action in 2018.

"Every manager would agree that it should be kicked out before the first game".

Wenger turned to contract rebel Alexis Sanchez in his bid to add a fourth goal, and the Chilean set up fellow substitute Olivier Giroud moments after his introduction as the French striker forced another save from Begovic.

"They had their weak games as well, and their weak behaviours as well". Those who want to retire me will get to see me play again.

It wasn't a particularly high-tempo game but Arsenal were most certainly in charge in the early stages.

Arsene Wenger has his work cut as he tries to unite his divided dressing room and can't afford to drop points in front of their own fans. Eddie Howe desperately needs goals from his team and while Defoe is a renowned Premier League goal-scorer, Josh King presents the biggest threat from Cherries' side. As long as Sanchez gives his all this season, there shouldn't be a problem. The title challenge seems to be over before it actually begun, with most fans just wanting the club to return to the Champions League.
