BJD demands apology from Amit Shah for

The joining of the councilors has come as a great boost for the ruling party coming as it did barely hours after Shah's confident assertion of winning 120 seats in Odisha in the 2019 elections.

Modi government has created "Brand India" that being recognized across the globe, Shah said.

Claiming that the people of Odisha want change, Shah said the recent three-tier panchayat election was a glaring example of BJP's growing popularity in the state.

The BJP leader, who was also a former minister, was convicted of murder in the 2002 Gujarat riot case and sentenced to 28-year imprisonment.

"He (Shah) is speaking the language of demons".

It may be noted that BJD leaders Pratap Deb, Sanjay Dasburma and Arun Sahu had recently put a challenge to the BJP to have an open debate on the Central assistance given to Odisha and revenue taken by the Centre from different sources from the State.

"Though the Centre has been pumping funds for the development of Odisha, the state government is not cooperating for the overall progress of the state", he alleged.

"Therefore, I ask where is Rs 4 lakh crore. "Notebandi" can not be reason for GDP coming down to 5.7 percent from 7.1 percent", the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President said in response to a query.

He also stated that thatBJD and the Congress are promoting dynasty politics in the countrySupporters of the BJD, Biju YuvaJanata Dal, Biju Mahila Janata Dal, Biju Chhatra Janata Dal led by Tourism Minister Minister ands several MLAs today came in a procession carrying party flags and condemned the remarks madeby Mr Shah. "For economic and industrial development, political stability is a pre-requisite", he added.

The Narendra Modi government does not believe in taking such decisions which "look good to people", but believes in taking decisions which are "good for people".

Shah lambasted the UPA government for its 10-year rule riddled with scams and blamed it on the accumulated NPAs (non-performing assets).
