Kante scores against former club as Chelsea win at Leicester

The 2015/2016 Premier League Winner was the target of Chelsea and Arsenal in last season but made a decision to remain with Leicester City.

Chelsea have condemned the singing of an anti-Semitic chant by their fans during Saturday's win at Leicester.

"The club and the players appreciate the fans passionate support, but the language in that song is not acceptable at all", said a Chelsea official.

'He's a very important player for the team, a very good midfielder, ' he added.

Chelsea will meet Arsenal in the Premier League next Sunday at Stamford Bridge, live on Sky Sports Premier League HD, with the Blues looking for their sixth successive home victory over Arsene Wenger's side.

N'Golo Kante got Chelsea's second against his former club, with Jamie Vardy's penalty not enough to stop the reigning champions coming away with all three points.

He'd just come off the back of a miraculous Premier League-winning campaign in which he'd scored 24 goals, and the in-demand striker gave serious thought to a London move.

Conte told the BBC's Match of the Day programme: "We must be delighted because we had a good performance".

Immediately after the win - before Morata was made aware of the unsavoury singing - he said: "It is important to win here". Then if he scores I'm very happy. Conte, as quoted on Chelsea's official website, called him a fantastic player and insisted he had an awesome game.

"He makes good runs and he is improving a lot with his passing and finishing. Now, N'Golo is a really top player".

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare felt his team battled admirably but thinks they just did not get the rub of the green. "We had a chance and a minute later they go down the other end and score".
