White House names third new communications director in 8 months

In mid-August, it was reported that Hicks, who served as a trusted press aide during Donald Trump's campaign, would fill in as communications director until the administration was able to find a permanent fit for the role.

According to Politico, Hicks, 28, was initially hesitant to take the position permanently and demanded that interim be but into her job title.

Hicks had been in the post on an interim basis after replacing Anthony Scaramucci, who was sacked in July after less than two weeks on the job. She went on to leave the firm to work for the Trump Organization on several projects, including Ivanka Trump's fashion line.

Miss Hicks said: "President Trump has a magnetic personality and exudes positive energy, which is infectious to those around him".

She was one of the first staffers to join his presidential campaign in 2015.

It appears the feeling is mutual.

Pushing aside claims from the co-hosts that President Trump is sexist, she pointed to the ascension of both herself and Hicks. When she chose the latter, Lewandowski reportedly told Hicks, "You're fucking dead to me".

In May she was mocked on social media after issuing a rare statement in response to a Washington Post article that suggested Mr Trump belittles his staff in private. Mike Dubke, who resigned in May, resigned after three months on the job.

Hicks, 28, is the third White House communications director in the administration's almost eight months.

Here's how Vogue note that Hicks "joined" the campaign. Her work area at the White House is found recently outside the Oval Office, and a Bloomberg journalist said she intends to stay at that physical work area.
