BSF trooper killed as Pak violates ceasefire along border in Jammu

In yet another incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistani Rangers along the International Border, one constable of the Border Security Force (BSF) was killed in Arnia sub-sector of RS Pura in Jammu district in the wee hours of Friday.

"As a peaceful country, we never initiated fire from our side but will never hesitate to give befitting reply if compelled", IG BSF said. They are utilizing mortars, automatics and little arms to target nine BSF posts in Arnia. "BSF troopers are retaliating strongly and effectively", BSF sources were quoted as saying by the IANS news agency.

The 32-year-old Bahadur hailed from Vidya Bhawan Naraypur village in Uttar Pradesh's Balia district. He is made due by his better half Sushmita Singh.

Parekh called it a violation of the 2003 ceasefire accord between the nuclear rivals, both of who claim Kashmir in its entirety.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan had accused Indian soldiers of unprovoked firing.

According to police, a civilian was wounded after he was hit by a bullet. "The deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and worldwide human rights and humanitarian laws", Foreign Affairs Ministry of Pakistan said.

On September 7, two army porters were injured in Pakistani troops firing in Poonch sector.
